Dining for Tsunami Victims

Zinc BarThis weekend's Sunday Source noted that several area restaurants are donating part of their profits to Tsunami relief. The arrangements across town vary. Some restaurants are offering specially priced menus, while Kaz Sushi Bistro is sponsoring a raffle to benefit UNICEF and The Brickskellar is donating 10% of all draft beer sales to the International Red Cross. However, if you're reluctant to come into the city (and who wouldn't be, with the warnings of traffic woes?), there are also plenty of options for you in Northern Virginia.

Tonight, all three restaurants in the restaurants in the Neighborhood Restaurant Group Family -- Tallula, Evening Star Cafe, and Vermilion -- are donating 15% of all sales to the American Red Cross and Catholic Relief Services. The staffs of all three restaurants are also chipping in a portion of their tips and salaries to help with the cause. DCist has already shared our experience at Tallula -- so why not experience the restaurant for yourself tonight, when your corn dogs will be going to a good cause?

Excellent post. As for options to donate to the tsunami victims while doing your weekly shopping, Starbucks pledges to donate $2 every time a customer purchases 1 lb of Sumatran coffee.
