Who's Our Seth Cohen?

2005_0429_ocdc_lg.gifWith The West Wing in the off season, there aren't any melodramas dedicated to D.C. on the horizon. No big deal really, since we prefer the escapism provided by shows set in more affluent environs like The O.C. It's really just nostalgia for the days of 90210 coupled with wishes that a club like the Bait Shop existed when we were in high school. We wonder what such excitement would be like in the District. A developer of Caleb Nichol's caliber would be putting up luxury condos like crazy while perched in a Potomac mini-manse, while an activist like Sandy Cohen would probably be based out of the People's Republic of Takoma Park. Ryan would no doubt be a wayward youth from Southeast or Columbia Heights and everyone would attend one of the more tony private schools in the area.

Logic aside, the good people at T Shirt Humor are marketing their own take on an O.C./West Wing hybrid. The shirt puts our President in the role of Ryan (though we've never seen him wearing a wrist band), Condi Rice as "the cheerleader", and Vice President Cheney as "the geezer". Odd casting; sure Caleb has heart trouble, but doesn't he hate Ryan? In any case, the shirt will run you $17.99 and the graphic is also available on mugs, mousepads, and hats. Anyone want to make a donation to DCist for one? We're a medium.
