Got Water?
The Post is reporting that a watermain break near the intersection of 13th Street and Florida Avenue in Northwest has disrupted service for people "from Adams Morgan and Cleveland Park in the Northwest and Brookland in Northeast."
The break, which the AP, via WTOP, has described as "massive," has buckled the street and "most of the dirt under the road's surface has been washed away."

UPDATE, 11:21 a.m.: Ward 1's Jim Graham sends word out to his constituents.
Dear Friends: I have just woken up to calls concerning no water in Ward One neighborhoods. I have checked with DC Emergency Services, and I am informed that there has been a major water main break at 13th and Florida.
It affects a large area of Ward One. I am not sure how much right now. I am getting calls from 16th and Harvard, and I live on Ontario Road and I have no water.
WASA, and its General Manager, are on the scene. I am on my way there.
UPDATE, 11:46 a.m.: WASA reports that the watermain break should be repaired by 4 p.m. The Post updates its report, saying that the break has left five city hosptials without water.

I don't have any pictures, and I don't have any water either. We're in Columbia Heights and we really want to take a shower -- but we'd settle for being able to flush the toilet.
We're in Georgetown, and... no water here either. :(
No water in Woodley Park.
I'm in Woodley and I have water.
Damn. We have minimal water out of the hot (not enough to do shower or do dishes though), but nothing out of the cold and therefore no water in the toilet.
Anyone wanna bet on when water is back again? I'm thinking... later tonight.
No water here in Adams Morgan. Haven't had any since at least 5am and I need a shower.

Apparently, fixing the problem will, "take a significant amount of time." But they're going to try to bypass the problem.
Another update from WASA, estimating water will be back on by 4:00:

However, the also say in the same release, that they have no idea when it will be back.
I've got my money on 4:30pm.
almost noon in columbia heights. we've got a trickle of water started which is a step up from just air but still not enough to do more than wet your fingertips.
Chianti, for EVERYONE!
Champagne si, agua no!
Trickle of water returned here a few minutes ago, but don't tell any of my neighbors or else I won't have enough to brush my teeth.
Looks like water is at 75% up here in Adams Morgan. I'm hoping it only improves from this point on, but I'm filling up some bottles just in case it goes on the fritz again.
Water is back in Georgetown! In our apt, at least. Thank God.
