Club U's Alcohol License Revoked

2004_12_newsdc_reeves.jpgHalf a dozen stabbings, shootings, and assaults later, the District's Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has definitively revoked Club U's alcohol license. Club U, the troubled Go-Go hotspot located inside the city-owned Franklin D. Reeves Municipal Center at the intersection of 14th and U streets NW, seen at right, was the location of a murder earlier this year, and had recently come under scrutiny by the D.C. Office of the Attorney General for recurring episodes of violence.

The board's decision may not bode well for the future of Kili's Kafe, a club in Shaw which was the scene of a shooting death early Sunday morning. Council-member Jim Graham (D-Ward 1) and neighborhood activists have pushed to have the club's license suspended for many of the same reasons which led to the revocation of Club U's license -- loud, rowdy crowds and repeated instances of violence and crime.

Club U will now join the distinguished, if infamous list of bars, restaurants, and stores that have had their alcohol licenses suspended or revoked.

Closin' Club U? T! Where WILL we go now? ;)

I suppose we can all go to Cafe Milano now. They won't mind, will they? Alert the Homies in the 'hood!!!

Wit ya, T. Milano. Be there to T-Square. Bring the bling, Baby. Oh yeah...Mr. Bobby Brown was sniffing his fingers on the Today show. My head hurts thinking 'bout it.

When Bobby sniffed his finger he apparently tol' Matt L. that he was sniffing Whitney. That is TOO visual for me.

TMI and TOO EARLY for THAT news, T.
