Annie Tickets Contest: The Exciting Conclusion

picture of annieWe were overwhelmed by the response to our Annie ticket contest. Nearly fifty folks entered, and we enjoyed ourselves heartily looking over your Annie mashups. This list was narrowed to twenty entries, which were then given to the editorial staff for a vote. First, for your reading pleasure, we present some non-winning, enjoyable runners-up.

Best to Receive No Votes from the Editors:

- Ted Kowalsky (and you have to follow the link) -

"A sumptuous mix of Morcheeba meets a slowed-down Basement Jaxx with a smattering of Tom Tom Club sung by woman resembling a cute baby kinkajou, and I mean that in the sweetest way possible.

I refer you to the following page.

Surely, the resemblance is uncanny."

Honorable Mentions:

- Kristen Trader with "Smurfette battles the Pink Robots."

- Morgan Hungerford with "madonna meets moog meets 'mamma mia.' meets me saturday, hopefully."

- Ian Weinstock with "I think that if Jem met Optimus Prime, you'd get Annie."

Second Runner Up:

- James Furdell with "Kylie Minogue meets the alphornist from the Ricola cough drop commercials."

First Runner Up:

- Kevin Mauro with "Cotton Candy mixed with KY."

And the winner is...

Adam Parker with the following:

"Rachel Stevens meets an overflowing "Secret Of The Ooze"-style canister of "hiptonite," the otherworldly substance that transforms ordinary Euro-girl-pop into Black Cat-booked, Pitchfork-approved indie heartthrob."

Thanks for your entries, everyone.

SWEET! No votes at all! Awesome, thanks for posting me though. I'm off to enjoy my 3 minutes of cyber-DC fame.

-T :)

So close.

Kevin Mauro's runner up is so much better than the snarky winner. Lame move, DCist!
