Panda Cam Ranked on Top 25 List
Thanks to our friends over at DC Metblogs, today we learned that our much-beloved Panda Cam ranked as one of the 25 most interesting webcams of 2005.
But before Butterstick and Motherstick break out the fermented bamboo juice and celebrate their newfound national fame, though, comparisons are in order. The Panda Cam ranked alongside the camera documenting the construction of the Raleigh Convention Center, the GracelandCam, the camera inside Tennessee's Anderson County Sheriff's Department jail, a camera perpetually trained on the Eiffel Tower, and, last but hardly not least, the Anchorage DMV cam, pictured above.
Ouch. Either Butterstick needs to get way more exciting, or we need to raise our standards as to what's interesting in the world of webcams.

I was trying not to look a gift praise in the mouth, though when I found it my exact thought was "who the hell is earthcam.com anyway?" This may be an honor that's on a par with getting a JD Power & Associates award for your car - a recognition given by an organization funded by the aware receivers than nobody outside the 'industry' gives a rat's patotie about. I'm trying to stick to the feeling of "anyone who likes us must be cool" and enjoy it, though.
I do concur however, the Anchorage DMV is one of the "most compelling?"....
