Closing Arguments
So it all comes down to this: on Tuesday, we began a discussion about an official song for D.C. That prompted tons of comment suggestions for potential anthems, and we subsequently took two votes in order to narrow down our choices to four. These four are:
"The District Sleeps Alone Tonight," by the Postal Service.
"Banned in DC," by Bad Brains.
"Washington, DC," by Magnetic Fields.
"Chocolate City," by Parliament.
Vote here, and note that the winner will, at least, be DCist's offical song, played at all our events, and blared occasionally from our rented speaker van which will speed around the city until widespread street dancing ensues.
We'll take votes until 5 p.m. tomorrow. Get to it.

Chocolate City? I thought that was New Orleans?
You, you can't hurt me, me I'm banned in D.C.
...and Bad Brains wins it by a total freaking landslide!
I vote for Chocolate City for the next 10-15 years or so... By then a new tune might be more relevant.
CC's gainin' on you!!!
I have the perfect music rhythm
"...Born out of the funk during the late '70s, go-go is a percussion-driven musical genre unique to DC that incorporates multiple drummers and audience call-and-response. Chuck Brown was one of the earliest go-go artists to find success with his hit "Bustin'Loose," which was later sampled in Nelly's hit, "Hot in Herre." ...

IF ANYBODY VOTES FOR THE INANE, MAUDLIN P.O.S. "CHRISTMAS EVE IN WASHINGTON" I WILL PUKE IN YOUR FACE !!!
Postal Service isn't even from DC. Bad Brains should win this by a mile.
I'm sad for two reasons. 1) I can't vote because the pop up window always tells me I already voted (I didn't) and 2) Radio Free DC by DC's own Fort Knox Five (with Afrika Bambaataa) wasn't an option. Especially the A Skillz and Krafty Kuts mix. That should be DCist's song. I take that back. It's mine. You can't have it.
