>> We're definitely planning on checking out a new performance series called Take That Hill that's looking to turn in to a semi-regular evening of short films and short story readings presented by local lit mag Barrelhouse. Sounds promising, and we'll have the rundown on how it went down for you come Monday. At Warehouse Theater's screening room, $5, 8 p.m.

>> Dude, free Yeah Yeah Yeah's listening party at Cue Bar, plus the Agenda. There are certainly worse ways to kill a Friday night, especially if you don't have tickets to the sold out Ted Leo and the Pharmacists show at Black Cat. 9 p.m.

SATURDAY:

>> WGTB, Georgetown University's little radio station that could, is hosting a concert on Saturday night, featuring Metropolitan, Unbuckled vets the Hard Tomorrows, and the Dance Party. At the Black Box theater on 36th Street NW between N and Prospect. Doors at 6:30 p.m., tickets at the door are $5, $3 in advance. Give the kids over at WGTB some love.

>> Brazilian percussion virtuoso and eccentric Nikelodeon composer Cyro Baptista brings his own ensemble Beat the Donkey to George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium, hosted by the Washington Performing Arts Society. The evening promises to be a colorful and energetic homage to multi-culti good vibrations -- one of Beat the Donkey's most infectious tunes is called "Rio de Jakarta," so you get the idea. $20–$30.

SUNDAY:

>> If forecasts are to be believed, odds look good that Saturday's Smithsonian Kite Festival will be bumped to its announced rain date on Sunday. In fact much of the kick-off to this year's Cherry Blossom Festival will likely be affected by rain -- so consider waiting until Sunday to head down and take in the delights of spring. It still won't be terribly warm, but at least you won't be soaking wet.

>> Catch 'em while you can: The Kelly Towles-curated graffiti art exhibition Wallsnatchers comes to an end this weekend, though the seemingly ever-extended Neil Labute play Fat Pig, originally scheduled to end Sunday as well, has in fact been extended one more time, but only to Thursday, April 2. So hurry on up.
