Similar picture along with other pictures of the WWII Memorial.
Huh.
What do people think of the WWII Memorial now that it's been there around about a year? At first I wasn't happy about another monument. This weekend though I was walking by there for the cherry blossoms, and seeing the sun glitter against the fountains, it was starting to grow on me.
I like the Photo of the Day feature, but is it really necessary to comment on what kind of camera every picture was taken with? For those so inclined, couldn't a trip to its page on Flickr be just as good?
Why would less information be better? Is the camera information really that opressive?
I don't mind the EXIF information if it's relevant to the shot. For example if the background is out of focus I might want to know the aperture setting, however this shot is pretty ordinary.
I'd prefer to hear why you chose each photo of the day and what you liked about each shot.
kind of agree w/ Clicker. the info isn't "oppressive", just irrelevant. Commentary about the image would be better, or even just the photo (and the credit/link). But I know some readers asked for it, so what can you do?
Exactly. I'd like to read, "The photo of the day goes to Nayr for his/her brilliant capture of the stars on the west side of the WWII Memorial. Just look at all of those stars!"
If it's a close contest, I would have links to the honorable mentions.
