Comcast Adds Three Channels, But No Nats Just Yet
As soon as our friends over at DCRTV reported that Comcast had added three channels to its lineup, we jumped to attention. Might they have finally buckled under the weight of Congressional and D.C. Council pressure and added MASN, allowing area subscribers to finally get their fair share of Washington Nationals games?
Nope. But lucky Comcast customers will be getting these channels:
Current TV (107) [is an] Al Gore-backed youth-oriented political news and activism network with a website at current.tv, while Encore's Indieplex (167) and Retroplex (168) feature uncut flicks.Huh. Great. So when is it that Congress and the D.C. Council are going to force Comcast into airing the games?

“This is really unfortunate for Nats fans and says a lot about the power (or lack thereof) that consumers have right now to say goodbye to Comcast and go to a competitor. This cable monopoly has got to stop and there are finally alternative choices becoming available. I’ve been following the issue for quite a while now on my blog ( http://channelchanger.typepad.com/) due to maddening problems like this with my cable company. I think DC is in the cards for some telco competition so let’s hope that Nats fans and consumers embrace that.”
