NBC 4 Reveals Feelings About Co-Workers

Office SpaceThe insular world of the local media may have been broken wide open by NBC 4 today, allowing us a valuable insight into what some employees at the television station think of each other.

I was perusing the news early this morning, and only quickly glanced at an NBC 4 story titled, "Some Say They Are Annoyed By Coworkers." Not seeming like anything new, I didn't give it much of a second thought. But upon actually reading the story a few hours later, I couldn't help but think that someone at NBC 4 was sending a message to their co-workers. Read the article:

WASHINGTON -- News4's Wendy Rieger reported Friday that some people said the most annoying people in the world are their coworkers. Some people said that it is only a matter of time before colleagues get on their nerves when working eight hours a day in nearby cubicles.
Some people, Wendy? Seems a little thin a cover, doesn't it? Continued the article:
Some people complained of the way their coworkers cleared their throat and chewed their food.

"His voice is so annoying -- it's like he has just too much mucus going on, and he talks all day -- it's annoying," one person said.

"They don't do their job, they just cause undo hardship on the other coworkers," another person said.

"Some people can just be annoying by standing there -- it doesn't take much," another person said.

And more:
Other examples of disturbing office behavior included digging wax of an ear with the end of a pen and then eats it, as well as passing gas while walking by a coworker's desk.
Wow. This seems less like journalism and more like a workplace narrative. If you didn't get the message, NBC 4, we'll break it down for you -- Wendy just doesn't like you. Especially the gas-passers and wax-diggers. You're the worst.

Oh my god, that's hilarious! I heard the preview for it when I had the news on while I was getting ready for work but I had no idea that it would be that good. Passing gas while walking by someone's cube? AWESOME. Reminds me of when my co-worker had a "fart machine" that just cracked me up. I put it on the corner of my desk, hidden from view, and when people walked by I'd make it "fart." No one ever acted like they'd heard anything!

I guess I'm one of those "annoying co-workers!" Ha!

'In some workplaces, like industrial factories for instance, colleagues will attempt to scoop you, and they never apologize, and take credit for your reporting, and are always trying to snatch away your local Emmy for excellence in broadcasting . . . '

My boss and I walk into the bathroom and step up to the two urinals there simultaneously. I'm hoping he's not a bathroom talker; in the dorms/frat house/apartment shared by multiple dudes conversing whilst sitting on the throne is one thing, at work a totally different thing IMHO. No dice, my boss starts casually chatting with me about what I'm working on right now, while we're standing there handling our business. Suddenly he announces, "I think I need to go back there," verbally indicating the stalls behind us. I figure that he has bashful kidneys and simply needs a change of venue to get comfortable.

He continues talking through the closed stall door as I'm washing up, "We're going to need to meet next week to talk about [grunt followed by a thunderous wet shitting/fart sound] the issue with the ALG Active X controls. I just wanted to give you a heads up." I mumble an acknowledgment and quickly dash out of the bathroom.

I can't believe I got LBJ'd

I think Wendy Rieger's voice is annoying though it doesn't stick in my craw quite as badly as Nancy Grace's. At least with the flick of a switch I can eliminate their presence, I should be so lucky with my co-workers.

There's someone on my floor who regularly eats whilest enthroned...the combined sounds of explosive diarrhea and crunching and chewing somehow really unnerves me. Lots of cell phone calls are made from the stalls as well, which also strikes me as creepy. Can you imagine being on a conference call with loud flatulence and splashing in the background?!?

OMG! Help! I work with this guy who sits in the cubicle directly across from me. The place we work at is like a freaking library --- silent hush pervades. He always makes a point of how he's sensitive to noise and smells. But he totally passes gas within ear shot and nose shot of everyone else. How can I approach him to curtail this issue of 'trapped air' - I understand we all have bodily emissions but it's another thing to do so in the presence of others!
I've had to resort to listening to my ipod all day long to drown out the constant sound of ducks quacking!

MM,

Wow! I don't think you should wonder why you find pooping and chewing unnerving, the real question is what kind of mutant does such a thing on regular basis?

Yikes,

HR

I can imagine the conference call...
"Can you respond to that, Bill?"
"Sure... Let me just finish opening this jar of... peanut butter ... There, got it. Now what were you asking?"

Awesome. I bet Pat Collins is passing the brown fog and Barbara Harrison is eating her earwax, she's a straightup jerkface BTW. Proper!

Still, you should see the mutants we have on the news in Austin, sheesh.

Did Wendy start her career at Fox?
