Even the D.C. Government Has a Sense of Humor...
Someone in the D.C. government must have a sense of humor. Earlier this month, the D.C. Council passed pay increases for government employees, and the Office of Personnel put some examples on their website showing how the pay raises work. The examples have generic names like Ben Worken, Martha Washington, and Scarlett O'Hara, all of which are mildly amusing. But then on page 4, the fake employee is named -- and yes, this is for real -- Seymour Butz. Ah, a classic.
However, it looks like Mr. Butz needs to work a little harder, as he's the lowest paid employee on there. No word if Hugh G. Rection or I.P. Freely also got raises, but we hear that Jacques Strapp is quickly moving his way up in the bureaucracy.

Hugh G. Rection.
I think this is Mr. Butz's reward for lending his name to Mayor Williams campaign petitions.
I am more concerned with how my buddies Oliver Clothesoff and Amanda Hugankiss are doing.
I think Haywood Jablome deserves a raise as well.
If you have't heard it, dig up a copy of Tube Bar Seluxe. It's the inspiration for Bart's prank call to Moe's. It even has a surly bartender threatening to kill the phone prankster in horrible ways.
Dcist really loves The Simpsons. Hehe.
