Though the region got itself in a tizzy over the record rains of Deluge 2006, there was plenty else that happened. We reported on the RAMMYs, saw a coup d'etat at Politics and Prose, marveled at the Washington Times' new intern blog, and debated whether or not Pierre L'Enfant should go to Congress. We checked out The Roosevelt, discussed Freddy Adu's defection from the District, and found out that heavy rains can cause both lawsuits and heavy traffic. We worried about security in the Metro, reported on the Smart Car's coming to D.C., checked out Metropolitan, and said goodbye to Jenna Bush. We looked into the Ty-D-Bol Memorial, debated about when free stuff becomes garbage, took a gander down to the Fish Market in Southwest, and criticized the Post's "Best" Bets. We reported on the soon-to-be-legal double-parkers, found out how well the District does in setting up speed-traps, and created the perfect 4th of July menu.

And, of course, the news of the week -- we announced our upcoming Butterstick Bash on Thursday, July 6.
