New Capitol Hill Series Premieres Tonight

Hill staffers, it's your turn to bathe in the harsh glare of the reality TV spotlight. The new six-part Capitol Hill documentary series The Hill (not to be confused with the Laguna Beach spin off The Hills) shadows the young staff of Congressman Robert Wexler (D-Fla) as they navigate the slippery halls of political power.

While a documentary about the wonky inner workings of a Hill office sounds mundane at best to us, we are happy to see D.C. get a little screen time thrown its way. And the critics seem to think the show is worth a half-hour of your viewing time. According to Paul Farhi at the Post, the show won't be a Real World/Girls Gone Wild mash-up of drunken Hill staffers carousing through the streets of Adams Morgan at all hours (however realistic that could potentially be). Instead, we're promised a "a solid and useful look at some smart, passionate people trying do something they think is right." Wow, big props coming from the man who can't find a little humor in Monday Night Football.

The Hill premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on the Sundance Channel. Unfortunately, I don't get the Sundance Channel, but I do get MTV, so I'll probably just end up watching another high school reality show. If you have Sundance and do see the show, let us know what you think.
