1) Free Cupcakes We'll be handing out cupcakes in honor of 2 years of DCist. And who doesn't like a nice cupcake? Actually, it's possible the DCist staff likes its cupcakes a little too much, so consider this fair warning that you'll have to bring some pain if you want to get in on the cupcake action. Just be careful — we hear DCist Amanda has finally perfected the Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique.

2) Fabulous Prizes A special thanks goes out to our partner Vince Wadhwani over at BuyIndie.net for helping us put together a teriffic set of door prizes from some great local, independent businesses. We'll be giving away gift certificates for yoga classes from Tranquil Space Yoga, season tickets for two at Catalyst Theater, and a $100 gift certificate to Carbon (good at either the U St. location or the new store in Woodley Park). So don't forget to grab your gratis raffle ticket when you slap down the low, low $8 cover charge at the door. We'll do the drawing in between the two bands' sets, upstairs. 3) Attractive Bloggers You know you want to meet all the hottest local Internet personalities, and we have it on good authority that many of them will be in attendance. Have a secret crush on a local blogger? Stalking someone on the Internet just a little? They'll probably be there tonight! So um, you should come too and try not to be too creepy about it.

4) Support Your City By dropping a few bucks at Unbuckled, you'll be supporting DCist, our city's thriving local music scene, many locally-owned businesses, 436 hungry kittens, and our staff's terribly fragile egos. Please come out tonight so we don't cry. It wouldn't be pretty.

5) Having Fun is Good For Your Health At least it should be. Come on, do you really have something better to do tonight than checking out two talented local bands, grooving to the excellent Bloggers/DJs from Bluestate, eating cupcakes, drinking cheap beer, making out with people from the Internet and being forced to accept free gift certificates? You know you should do this. It's just like taking your vitamins. So give in already.
