A Little is Better Than Nothing, Right?

With all the excitement surrounding the District possibly getting a voting seat in the House of Representatives, some of the obvious logistical questions of such a momentous development have been ignored. Most importantly, our elected leaders have yet to tell us what will become of our "Taxation Without Representation" license plates, one million of which are now in circulation. After all, it won't exactly be accurate to say we're not represented, right? Fear not, D.C., for our friend Nikolas Schiller has come to the rescue. Without further delay, we present the new and updated license plate for a somewhat represented District:

Looks good, doesn't it?

Maybe to save money, the city could just issue the old plates to 2/3 of drivers?

What's with the Arabic?

Another more serious question:

Does the plan say we get a rep, or just that our delegate gets a meaningful vote?

If it is that we get a full Rep, doesn't that mean that it's not Eleanor that gets the vote, but rather the Shadow Rep Mike Panneta? Isn't that the whole damn point of the shadow rep that they're there to step in as a full rep once we get representation?

I kind of doubt this is the case, but I really don't like Norton, and I'd much rather see someone else be my rep, someone who feels less than completely and utterly entitled to be my rep.

schiller writes his name in arabic on some of his art. of course, if that was really on your plate, you could get busted for defacing the plate. there was a man in maine who got in trouble for painting over the lobster on his license plate about 10 or so years ago.

you're right reid, i believe. it would be awesome if panneta got to be the rep.

Reid, both Panetta's and Norton's positions would be abolished by the bill, so they'd both be free to run for the newly created position, along with anyone else who feels like throwing their hat in. Vincent Orange? A. Scott Bolden? He Who Must Not Be Named? The possibilities are endless.

nikolas schiller is my hero. he's fantastic.
