Go Home Already: Amenable, Agreeable, and in Accord

megaphone.jpg >>A CNN/Gallup Poll released today reports that "100% of D.C.-Metro area residents" agree that they "like things that are great." Okay. There's no such poll. We're just giddy that after two-plus years of trying, we finally uncovered a local issue that we all agree on: following Vincent Orange into a redevelopment abyss over the Capital City Market is a bad idea. Further developments on the story shall be noted.

    >> Imminent show cancellation alert!
Indie-rap label Definitive Jux is saying that their tour featuring Mr. Lif and The Coup will be scotched after a harrowing bus crash and fire in San Diego left three tour members hospitalized with serious injuries. Those of you who bought tickets for their December 18th show should contact the Black Cat for information on what to do next.

    >> Hey artists! The deadline to submit art for the ArtDC/Artomatic spring gallery shows is tonight at midnight. So get cracking! Those of you who planned ahead are invited to a Happy Hour tonight at the Warehouse Theatre, from 6-8 p.m. 1017 7th Street, NW. Take Green/Yellow to Mount Vernon Square, Red to Gallery Place Station.

    >> Shout-out noted: Largehearted Boy gives mad pimpage to local favorite Sarah Grace McCandless and her latest book, The Girl I Wanted To Be. Buy the book, and keep watching her blog for news on whether Zach Braff accepts her mix-CD challenge.

    >> Every week brings a new reason to love Gilbert Arenas. This week, we learned from Deadspin that Agent Zero has taken to shouting "Hibachi!" whenever he puts up a shot that feels like it's going in. Arenas, who uses the phrase to indicate that he's "on fire," seems to have arrived at "Hibachi" after careful thought on the matter — no doubt having rejected such interjections as "Flambe!", "Space heater!" and "Magnesium added to water!"

    > > This would-be mom sure knows how to multitask!

    > > Last second add: US Soccer fans, meet Team USA's new coach. UPDATE: Well, that was nice while it lasted.

[Photo by Daniella Zalcman. We love her photos from Monday's Supreme Court protests so much we also ran one yesterday, and you can see even more of Zalcman's work here.]
