Photo of the Day: January 24, 2007

2006_0124_potd

A bowl of steamy soup sounds delicious right about now, after running into a few drifting snowflakes on the way to work this morning. The folks at Gracious Bowl were thinking just that, and the people in this photograph are probably enjoying some homemade soup as you read this, thanks to them. Meeting at the DC Guesthouse last night, they participated in the DC Soup Swap, each bringing six quarts of their own winter concoction to trade with others, along with recipes, stories, and some canned goods to give to charity. Sounds like the perfect cold weather activity to us.

Flickr user static-photo took this nicely warm-toned shot of Michelle Sasscer selecting some Japanese Root Vegetable Soup, and if you've got any of that left over, Michelle, you know where we are. EXIF.

Soup-swapping is the new cuddling.

A bunch of dorks eating soup. That's amazing.

It appears that these soup-eating dorks are caught in some sort of fish bowl. They look like they're having a RAGING time eating each other's soup! Sweet!

"A bunch of dorks eating soup. That's amazing."

And people think DC is boring.

Ron, you almost made me spray my reports with coffee this morning! LOL!

""A bunch of dorks eating soup. That's amazing.'

And people think DC is boring."

And people think DC is full of narrow-minded assholes who can't fathom that others might have different, yet still enjoyable, interests from themselves.

No, you're confusing DC with Virginia. Nice try though!

Believe me, I'm not.

How old are these people posting comments? Ron are you 12? You guys are a perfect representation of how mind-numbing and shallow people can be. Give me a break.

Soup swap sounds fun. Cool digs too.

6 years in that creative sinkhole was enough. DC is transient for more than just politics.
