You guys gave us an impossible job, but we managed to narrow the field of over 200 amazing photographers to the short list you'll find after the jump. We want to thank everyone who submitted their photos; we're truly overwhelmed with the enthusiastic response, and hope this will pave the way to many shows in the future and more exposure for all of your great work.
If your name is on the list below, Congratulations! Also, please check your inboxes and your spam filters, because we've sent you an email that you must reply to so that we know you're still willing to participate.
Don't forget (oh, and we won't let you), the opening reception for the first ever DCist Exposed Photography Show is March 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Warehouse Arts Complex. We're working on some seriously awesome prizes to give away that night, so we hope to see all of you there. Mark your calendar now and come have a beer, meet these fantastic photographers, and maybe even take home one of these great shots to hang on your wall.
Thanks again to everyone who participated, and if you haven't taken a look through the whole pool, you're missing out. Find the winners after the jump.

Cool beans!
Thanks! You know, DCist is responsible for my return to photography a year or so ago. Once I figured out that the photos on it were taken by dc netizens like me, I made it my goal to get a photo chosen by you guys someday. The support you give to local photographers in this way really is appreciated.
I look forward to meeting the flickr/dcist community, and putting faces to styles :)
Haha. DCist--I came for the writing, but stayed for the photos. The photos are really a great part of this blog and I'm really impressed with all the talent. The DCist Exposed pool rocks and congrats to all the photographers regardless of whether you're in the show. It'll be cool to meet other DCist's at the show.
Yes, thanks DCist. This is a great opportunity for us local photographers to showcase some of our work.
I hope that everyone from the DCist Exposed Pool is able to make it out to the show, so we can get to meet everyone that submits to the DCist pool.
I also hope a lot of you non-photo submitters make it out as well.
Thanks DCist! Thank you for supporting local photographers. It will be great to put faces to names of all these great photographers.
There are so many fantastic photos in the pool...I hope all of you can make it out to the show.
This was a great idea and I'm glad to see it come to fruition. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and most all seeing your work on the walls in all its glory. CONGRATS!
congrats to all the photographers, and let me add to the kudos for DCist for showcasing local work...
Yes, thanks so much to DCist for the writing and photography, and for this show! Looking forward to meeting everybody.
This is much fun. I'm glad to be associated with all of you.
Yay! Thanks so much for including me in such a talented pool of folks.

Thanks for a great contest! Some great photos of DC.
Hopefully you can sponsor more photo cotests? Perhaps the DCist can run one per quarter with different themes.
Thanks again!!!!

Heather pretty much rocks my socks.
My photos didn't make the cut, oh well. I noticed nearly all the winning photos were shot within the District, only a few were shot in the suburbs. Many of them are very recognizable subjects too. Will remember that next year. I sound like a sore loser. Congratulations to all the winners!
What great talent we have here in DC!
I think it would be a great idea these images would be available in post cards or foldover cards with envelopes! I, for one, would certainly purchase such items. Not only because they are stunning but also to help promote DC and the artists! I know it would be expensive to produce. But I would buy them and use them!
is this only tonight?
please email me!!
