Photo of the Day: April 11, 2007

We know it's a few days past Easter now, but it's hard to resist this perfect portrait of the thrill of the Easter egg hunt. Flickr user yospyn took this shot during the event sponsored by One Brick, a nonprofit that takes a unique approach to volunteering -- instead of having to commit yourself to an organization, you're able to pick and choose projects, giving busy people an opportunity to lend a hand without making a regular commitment that a lot of us know we couldn't keep. One Brick also provides a social outlet for volunteers, often making plans at a local restaurant to get a bite to eat together afterwards, or events like this Easter egg hunt -- yet another aspect the busy people of this town might enjoy.

Great one!
Love the pic....anyone know where this was taken? Columbia Heights-U St. area?
This is one of my favorite DCist pictures ever! A heartwarming picture of D.C. (apparently) taken above W Street--someone please tell the Post that yes, Virginia, it is possible.
Looks like the field b/t bordered roughly by 16th & 17th and P & Q. In dupont. That's the Cairo in the background.
Stead Park, off of P near 16th.
Yep, that's "Sted" (sp?) Park in Dupont. Nice work Yospyn!
It's "Stead". Pronounced "Sted". Not "Steed". Stead is a 68,000 sf DPR rec located at 1625 P Street NW, near Dupont Circle.
Many thanks to One Brick, Dupont Parents, and Friends of Stead Park, for the event.
Thanks, Yospyn, for the photo. Thanks, Heather, for the welcome notice of the event, and the well-deserved props.
Yes, this is Stead Park in Dupont. Thanks to One Brick for volunteers, Dupont Parent for helping spread the word and Lindsay Reishman for sponsoring the event!
