We love the quiet, calm concentration in Flickr user
smleon's photo of two Buddhist monks working on a
sand mandala, with the Dalai Lama looking on approvingly. The monks are creating the mandala at Georgetown University as part of the school's inaugural "
Children of Abraham Arts Week," an interfaith arts festival. They began work on Tuesday, and are scheduled to complete it for a community celebration this Saturday, after which the mandala will, as is tradition, be carefully unmade.

Very cool!
I hope they remembered to take their Claritin.
Love the work. But, out of curiosity, when did Buddhism get (incorrectly) lumped into the constellation of Abrhamic religious faiths?
Boy, that picture takes me back: blowing colored rail mandalas off some Mongolian hooker's ass on top of a pool table.
I miss the '80s.

Awesome. I was going to post something along the lines of, "Not to be entirely irreverent, but...," but as usual you've outdone yourself.
