Awesome Forecast Causes Weather Man to Lose Mind

In college I took a number of atmopsheric sciences classes back when I thought I might like to become an environmental lobbyist or something like that. I had one rather bitter professor who liked to spend a lot of time complaining about how TV "meteorologists" don't actually know anything about meteorology and are just washed up stand-up comics. I'm pretty sure he was talking about guys like this.

The good news: this holiday weekend is shaping up to be stunningly beautiful. The bad news: if you're heading to the beach, traffic on the Bay Bridge is going to be so lousy you might end up as crazy as this guy.

Video from accuweather.com

UPDATE: It looks like the code for the video points to a cycling stream of daily forecasts, meaning now the crazy guy has been replaced by someone else with today's weather. I'm trying to figure out if I can find the old video in a permanent state. Thanks for your patience.

thank you for making my day in more ways than one

According to Accuweather's web site he has a B.S. in Meteorology.

I'm not sure what the B.S. stands for... but that was funny.

holy crap. he's all hopped up on goofballs.

B.S. = Bachelor of Science

Can I go home now?

That was the best headline and post and headline of post I've seen on DCist in the last year. I think I might be serious.

Good work.

ZOMG!!!

This guy is the lovechild of Matthew Lesko ("Free Government MONEY") and Jack Horkheimer ("Keep...Looking...UP!")

Is anyone else really excited about that high pressure system now? No? Just me?

What makes this really weird is that Accuweather reports are either broadcast from or read off a script written at Accuweather HQ in State College, PA...

Seems the linked video updates periodically, as now there's a cute woman giving the forecast.

Look closely at that woman and try to tell me she doesn't look uncannily like Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Is it Jim Kocek (sp?) you're thinking of? I don't get why he decided that Sam Kinison was the style he wanted to emulate. On some mornings it's funny, other times it scares the hell out of me.

Dont worry about switching the video, this one is beter. I think I feel a high pressure system moving in over my Mi-Atlantic region...
