Photo of the Day: May 25, 2007

Here's a fantastically colorful image to kick-off our long weekend. Flickr user firegal took a few shots of this boat filled with amusing glass art in, from her vantage point, what we assume is the Botanic Gardens (but we know you'll correct us in the comments if we're wrong). We're crossing our fingers our three days are filled with as much sunshine (and boats – there should be boats!) as this photo. EXIF.

This has got to be Dale Chihuly's glass, right?
Didn't DCist already use this image?
I'm guessing you picked this photo in a hurry and didn't realize a nearly identical shot was chosen on 5/1:

And yesterday we get a photo of a sweaty pint of beer as the POTD as well as another sweaty object by the same photographer on the About Tonight posting. Either you guys are showing favoritism or the intra-DCist communication needs some serious work.
Oops, way back on May 1st we used a similar photo by Eye Captain. My mistake, I was on hiatus during that time and should have checked the archives. Clearly we love that piece of art!
This shot is much better than the first potd
I agree...this is Dale Chihuly's work.
This IS Chihuly, and yes, this is at the new national garden at the Botanic Garden
i like this photo.
If you guys are hard up for photos, I have a bunch of my cats being supercute.
I believe in the "super" prefix.
At least it's a new shot. The ists up in Boston have chosen the EXACT SAME photo before.

Wow, you guys need to get the Bostonist photo editor to handle the duties here. At least when they repeat a PotD it's a good picture.
Beautiful day. Beautiful picture.
"Creative" types are just too damn paranoid ... notice how quickly hints of conspiracy and favoritism are raised when the obvious answer is simply laziness.
It's from the Chihuly exhibit in New York Botanical Gardens last year.
