FRIDAY:
>> There's another Hirshhorn AfterHours event planned for tonight, when the museum stays open late for a party, this time featuring DJ Spencer Product in a celebration of the new exhibit Wolfgang Tillmans. $10 in advance, $12 at the door, 8 p.m. to midnight.
>> KRS-One is "The Teacher" for a reason -- besides being an over-40 MC still preaching against violence, misplaced hatred, and government corruption, he's also been a crucial influence for nearly every MC who came after him. He'll be at Black Cat tonight to make sure we're all still getting the message. $20, with D.C.'s own Emoni Fela. 9 p.m.
SATURDAY:
>> The National Symphony Orchestra will offer a tribute concert in memory of its former music director, Mstislav Rostropovich, who died last month. This free concert, a Millennium Stage event, will take place in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. If you cannot be there in person, you can watch the live Webcast. Free, 6 p.m.
>> The local music scene celebrates another milestone tonight as up-and-comers Let's French celebrate the release of their album, Victory, with a special show at Black Cat with Death by Sexy and Unbuckled alums These United States. $10, 9 p.m. Check out our interview with Let's French from last year.
SUNDAY:
>> Sunday looks to be our best chance for beautiful weather this weekend, so consider taking advantage of two outdoor street fairs. The annual Taste of Arlington runs from noon to 5 p.m. in Ballston and offers live entertainment and a breadth of offerings from area restaurants. Tickets are no longer available in advance online, but can be purchased at the gate for $25. If you're willing to go a little farther out, Taste of Wheaton will happen from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. has similar fare for a much cheaper price: free admission and plenty of $1 tasting menus.
>> It's the last day of Artomatic. The damn thing's been running for five weeks, so if you haven't been out to check it out yet despite our frequent reminders, for shame.
>> If you've never seen Pretty Girls Make Graves perform live, tonight is your last chance. The band stops by the Black Cat on their farewell tour tonight. $13 tickets are still available for this 8 p.m. show, with Moonrats and Call Me Lightning.

How can you forget about the Andrews AFB Air show? This is a traditional major DC area event, how can you not report on that.
I've been to Taste of Wheaton before, it's actually pretty fun, and tasty food. Empanadas, mmm...
Don't forget Mid City Artists Open Studios weekend! Artists in Logan and Dupont open their studios both Saturday and Sunday. I think more are showing Saturday, though.

Elvis Costello tonight at 9:30. If it is anything like the show in Baltimore last week then it will be fantastic.
