Robeks Smoothies For $1

2007_0607_RobeksJuice.jpgDon't run out just yet, as the special doesn't start until 4 p.m., but Robeks is offering smoothies for just $1 this afternoon -- not free, but certainly significantly discounted compared with the $5 you normally have to plop down for the privilege of sucking pureed fruit and ice through a straw.

There are two Robeks in D.C.-proper: one at 4523 Wisconsin Ave. NW and the other at 1707 L St. NW. There's also a couple in Rockville and at least half a dozen in Northern Virginia (you can look up addresses here). As you might imagine, you should expect a pretty long line at the downtown D.C. location this afternoon, so if you're planning on taking advantage of the special, be prepared to wait.

the downtown location is offering 2 flavors, one of which is mango and can't remember the other.

If you do go to Robek's, don't get Vita-Bek or Power-Bek added to your smoothies unless you want something that tastes worse than a bottle of liquid Centrum mixed with fruit.

Nothing beats Jamba Juice! Nothing! Too bad there's only one left... but I'm working on that!!!

When is someone going to make a healthier version of the Bubble Drink?

The line at the downtown location stretched all the way to 17th Street when I just walked past there. So expect a sweaty wait.

no nothing beats smoothie king nothing!

JAMBA JUICE RULES...why aren;t there more of them down here? It is far superior to chalky tasting Robeks with a better name to boot.

C'mon Jamba Juice, read my Post and realize DC needs you, not least of all to put give us the proper smoothie infusion we need!

10 minute wait when I went last night at 4:45 - the $1 ones were small (12 oz.) & only those 2 flavors listed above. I took a couple home on the Metro to give my kids. Their offer ended at 6pm, the sign on the door said.
Then I went to the Robeks at Congressional Plaza in Rockville at 6pm - no line at all, plus they added all other sizes of tropical & berry smoothies at half-price.
My 3 yr old drank so much of this stuff that she peed in her bed that night.

hello i just want to say that i am a big fan of robeks.
