Unbuckled 6: We's In Yr Rock Club, Playin Yr Muzik

unbuckled6_webflyer.JPG

Drumroll please.... Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to announce the sixth edition of DCist's perpetually fantastic concert series, Unbuckled! Without further ado, may we present to you the lineup for this summer's show. From Alexandria, VA and newly signed to Sub Pop's Hardly Art label, Le Loup! Coming down to D.C. from Brooklyn, we've got The XYZ Affair! And finally, providing a DJ set in between, our friends and yours, Middle Distance Runner!

Mark your calendars for July 11, and brace yourself for all the fun that we've got in store. We've given you glimpses of both bands before, and we're really excited to bring them to you live from DC9. Middle Distance Runner are following in Georgie James' footsteps and taking to the DJ booth after successfully headlining a previous Unbuckled show. In addition to all the rock, we'll be giving away some wonderful door prizes. How often do you get a gift for attending an awesome concert? DCist loves ya. Don't ever forget it.

A mere $8 will get you access to all the fun. As you can probably guess, we'll be beating you about the arms and face with more details about the show as the date draws nearer. In the mean time, head over to the bands' MySpace pages and get a glimpse of what's in store for you on July 11 at DC9.:

omg, xyz? lol!

but seriously folks. the xyz affair will literally rock your socks off... then keep them. they have a slight fetish.

This sounds really fun especially w/ le loup, but unfortunately dc9 is a shithole that doesn't even do all ages shows (and very often has middle-school auditorium styled sound).

see also the red & the black.

Is that headline a lolcat reference? Caturday is tomorrow, you know...

agreed...I saw Planes Mistaken For Stars at the Red & Black and it was just terrible...and big BOO-URNS to their 21+ show policy.

I agree emphatically about sound at the Red & the Black. It's not really fair to compare DC9 to that, though -- for the size of the space it actually sounds pretty damn good. Maybe not Velvet Lounge good, but on par or better than BC backstage.

The 21+ is a shame, but also not something that there's an easy answer for.

Wow, a bar with a 21+ policy? That is fucking crazy.

It's DC and these aren't just bars with bands covering lenny kravitz

proper leetspeak is Ur not Yr. but who cares....

in ur coment sektshun, leevin u propur gramer

go see pela @ the cat instead. much better brooklyn band.

Does DC 9 sell advace ticekts? I'm not going to be able to make it there until 9:30ish and I worry about the turnout with Le Loups hype craziness.
