Flushing a Blake Gopnik Review Down the Toilet
For anyone remotely involved in the D.C. art scene, we present to you a solution to your frustrations with Washington Post art critic Blake Gopnik. Avowed local oddball photographer James W. Bailey posted this video to YouTube and tagged it with DCist. If you've got a video you'd like to share, we encourage you to do the same.

the fun part is going to be when the plumbing in that house backs up from flushing stuff like that down the toilet, and then that artist is going to call their landlord and complain when their own shit is pooling up on the floor around their ankles.
I'm almost certain that act of defiance played out much more grand in his head. Something was lost when transferred to video...
Blake Gopnik's art criticism skills would be better suited to a high school paper. One must wonder exactly how the guy landed a gig at the Post in the first place.
Dear Sommer,
I greatly appreciate DCist helping me to promote my Sundance Film Festival short film entry. :)
I think is was Mr. Scott who once said, "The more they overwork the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain."
Every film has a plumbing production back-story, so for those who are interested here's this one: The video was originally published on my blog at http://blackcatbone.blogspot.com/2007/06/flushing-blake-gopnks-art-review-of-us.html

One for Mr. Bailey -
Minus 1000 for Gopnik - how does the Post stomach that guy? Please move to NYC and let us get a real art critic.
So which of Blake Gopnik's columns do you find so offensive? I don't read him that often, but I've found him to be a straight-shooter. Perhaps that's the problem.
This video is boring. What a lame gesture.
