Rochambeau Your Way to Free (Well, Almost) Tortillas
Thanks to a tip from the writers at WeRiteGoode, we are letting you know of yet another fast food giveaway (well, almost).
For those of you who find that standing in extensive lines for a dollop of ice cream or a free doughnut is a tad "lazy," California Tortilla is offering a bit of competition with their discount. For today only, if you beat the cashier in a game of Rock Paper Scissors, (Rochambeau, Jankenpon, Muk-Chi-Ba, etc...) you will earn $1 off any entrée item. But please, do not play the "extreme" variation and assault the cashier afterwards. Bask in your win while munching on some tortilla chips.
If you've forgotten how to play, you should brush up on the World RPS Society's rules, and practice some Rochambeau tactics. With enough practice, you too will feel the satisfaction of earning your $1 discount and perhaps find yourself in any number of RPS championships. Don't forget to stretch, or you'll sprain a finger.
Locations can be found throughout the D.C. area, including Chinatown, Cleveland Park, Courthouse Arlington, Bethesda, and Silver Spring.

I love burritos so much and it bothers me that DC is overrun with chain burrito restaurants like Chipotle, Baja Fresh, and California Tortilla which leave much to be desired. I feel like most other major US metropolises have more of a variety of local burrito joints. Am I wrong? Maybe I'm just california dreamin'...
There are a few non-chain burrito places in DC...the Well Dressed Burrito (never been on account of the odd hours, but I've heard good things), and The Burro in Foggy Bottom, which is delish. There is also Burrito Brothers but that's a chain. (Is that a national chain or regional?) I'm sure there are some other little places in Adams Morgan or Mt Pleasant where you can get burritos.
I have never been to California Tortilla though...is it any good?
California Tortilla is alright but what I crave is like organic burritos with avacado and random stuff like that-santa cruz burritos, yum.
i do enjoy the California Tortilla...in moderation however. Its a regional chain, started in College Park (i think?)
this was so much fun! my girl and i each saved $1...rock always CRUSHES scissors! and the food was great, too. i had never been to a california tortilla before, but i heard about this thing and went to the one near my office in bethesda (i think its the original one). i got the thai chicken burrito--who would have thought of that combo? lucy got the huney lime. i'm going back monday to see what the deal is with that wheel...
wow...the quality of their ads have really sunk. what happened??
This article is denigrative towards cats. I am livid.
i don't really think california tortilla falls into the same category of baja and chipotle. those two are owned by big corps, whereas i'm pretty sure california tortilla is a local place (despite the name). and dude, their guacamole may not be completely organic but it is super delicious.
