MetroPerforms! Releases Video
In case you missed the first WMATA-approved performance outside a metro station earlier this month, Metro has started releasing video of the acts for the benefit of the internets. Here, Markus Smith and Deonna Ball perform their version of DC Hand Dancing on June 15 outside the Dupont Circle station. For the full schedule of MetroPerforms!, head over here. The next performance, which will feature the Upper County Steppers, is scheduled for tomorrow from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., outside the Ft. Totten station.

No wonder I wasn't picked after the audition...although all the press that was there seemed to be impressed.
The WMATA wasn't looking for "street musicians" to simply make the commute more enjoyable by providing a passive diversion...they want a full-on spectacle going on outside the station and blocking pedestrian traffic!
I don't think this makes much sense.
