Disturbing news out of the Columbia Heights neighborhood, as reports emerge about a 9 a.m. shooting at a crowded bus stop this morning at the corner of Georgia Ave. and Columbia Rd. NW. A woman being described as a Latino woman in her mid to late 30s is in critical condition at Howard University Hospital after being shot in the head by a man who fled on a bicycle.
The shooting ocurred as students at nearby Bruce Monroe Elementary School were starting classes. The school is currently on lockdown, and at least four of students witnessed the shooting, according to WTOP. Police told the Post they were looking for as many as three people who may be involved in the shooting, and say they are not sure why the woman was targeted. NBC4 spoke to a witness who said a Latino man and woman were walking across the street having an argument. The witness said he heard a pop and then saw the woman lying on the ground.

Let's just hope and pray that the woman comes out okay. This reads like a terrible domestic dispute spilled out into the public.

Actually, notyou and Ex-Hy Hy, Jim Graham and Cathy Lanier are most likely trying to figure what nightclub was closest to the incident so that they can pull its liquor license and attempt to shut it down.

Actually, I live about 3 blocks from that intersection; I fully expect Jim Graham to have confiscated my liquour cabinet by this time tomorrow.

Sorry. I too hope she pulls through and that the violent idiot who perpetrated this crime is brought to justice.

Not gonna to happen...that bus route is where the 70 bus come and goes.
Wow, this is trully disturbing I take the 70 bus every morning, I must have just missed seeing the shooting by about 10 minutes. I also live about three blocks away... I'm praying for her recovery.
