I was at my local, Dr Dremo. Not a huge fireworks fan, but there is a something quite disconcerting about watching the display with Madonna blaring. And, while the parking lot was packed, the inside (air conditioned, too) was sparsely filled.
Saw the Wheaton fireworks with my kids. Not sure if they were going forward b/c it was raining lightly ~8:45, so I took a chance & drove to the area. Parked on University Blvd & walked 8 min. to Einstein HS. Back field was PACKED. Fireworks delayed tho - didn't start until 9:45 when they normally start ~9:15. The natives got restless. Nice display (used to be at Wheaton Mall - now they tell people to park there & they shuttle them with Ride On buses), with some sort of concert beforehand but I missed that.
Samer, the only place to see the Mall fireworks is somewhere near the Mall! ;)
I'm afraid not, Phil. Back in the Good Ol Days™ that was true. Those days included getting to the Mall at 6a with a keg and a tarp, and then proceeding to pass out for hours on end. Sigh, to think all that was a mere 19 years or so ago.
