Hayden Panettiere, the young star of NBC's Heroes, is getting mixed reviews on YouTube for her performance singing the National Anthem in D.C. on Wednesday as part of the Capital Fourth concert at the National Mall. Judge for yourself.

The whole program was a nightmare, including Hayden's performance. There are so many very well trained singers in this town, yet as always, the organizers go for the pretty face, no matter what kind of disgusting barnyard sounds they produce. Pop singers irritate me. PLEASE, go take some voice lessons, learn how to breath properly and learn proper diction. Oh, and I forgot, at least try to sing in tune.

as an accompanyment to tony danza? she's perfect!

Her singing was as bad as Tony Danza's jokes. Apparently PBS has started a new July 4th tradition: crickets chirping...

Save the Cheerleader, Suffer for Eternity.

NotTheRedBaron...

do you really think hers is a "pretty face"?

i have never understood why people consider her or others (e.g. reese witherspoon comes to mind) "pretty". nice, probably...friendly, maybe...but not "pretty". then again, i do play for the other team so who am i to talk.

anyway, my point is, she's neither pretty nor a good singer. why do i know who she is again? :)

At least you didn't have to listen to her sing it ten times over three days (I'm in the choir in the background). And she has a vocal coach - trust me, the woman is so not helping.

Was she singing? I was too busy staring at her breasts and imagining her naked. Too bad I didn't know she was in town or I'd have invited her over to my bedroom.

Hayden Planetarium (or whatever) doesn't just need voice lessons. The poor lass needs breathing therapy.

She was better than Carl Lewis and Roseanne Barr. I didn't cringe all that much.
