About Tonight

>> Velvet Lounge brings the noise tonight as French electronic music pioneer Richard Pinhas Duo takes the stage, along with Silver Spring's Insect Factory. Call (202) 462-3213 for time and pricing, though Velvet's shows usually start around 9 and cost under $12.
>> The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker bring a little funk and whole a lotta soul to Iota tonight. 9 p.m., $10.
>> Dana Whitaker stops by Busboys and Poets for an upbeat talk about microfinance, and we know there are at least a few of you international development geeks out there who might like to stop by. She'll read from her book, Transforming Lives $40 at a Time, at 6 p.m. Stick around for a free screening of Nineveh, a film about the politics of water, at 8 p.m.
>> Evan Bliss & the Welchers just finished their debut CD and are celebrating with a record release party at The Red and the Black tonight, with Seneca Hawk and Rome in a Day. 9:30 p.m., $8.

Velvet Lounge cover for tonight is $8 or at least usually is for Thursday nights. I'll be your doorman tonight so don't forget your IDs and read this if you haven't:

Nice photo of Dremo's. I thought this was a DCist, not Arlingtonist. I'm offended and am removing this website from my bookmarks.
Also I'll be spinning the Gothic/Industrial and EBM at Chronos (located at Five) with my former Alchemy cohorts 2501 and Dirty B.
As always open bar 9-10! 21+ Cover is $7.
Is that comedy thing still going on at 18th & Red thursday nights? It was actually decent a couple weeks ago.
