About Tonight

>> Since Tuesday is the new Thursday, we'd recommend heading over to Rock and Roll Hotel for a stellar line-up of DJs including Ken and Juan of East Coast Boogiemen, Lexus King, Devin Byrnes of Exit Only, Aaron Sparks and Keenan. 8:30 p.m.- 1:30 a.m., free all night long.
>> Montreal's The Besnard Lakes play with Dirty On Purpose at the Black Cat's backstage, 9 p.m., $10. If you can't get enough of the Canadian rock scene, this show is for you.
>> Local filmmaker Sujewa Ekanayake has been screening his debut feature, a DIY comedy about a series of first dates, at the Armory Building in Kensington, MD nightly since last week. We still haven't had a chance to check it out, but are interested to see how the venue has been transformed into a screening room. See Date Number One on a 10 foot screen at the Armory at 7:30 p.m. for $7.
>> Roger Rapoport will be at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library to discuss his new biography on Michael Moore, Citizen Moore: The Life and Times of an American Iconoclast at 6:30 pm. Rapoport will also screen clips from Sicko in Room A-5.

Hey DCist, thanks for the Date Number One mention!
The run is going great, the venue is awesome - ideal for DIY indie film screenings. The majority of the people who've seen the movie at the Armory have been happy with both the movie & the venue.
I'll post some photos from the event at my blog later this week (at http://www.diyfilmmaker.blogspot.com/) so you can see what the venue looks like.
One last chance to catch Date Number One at the Armory tomorrow (Wed) night, 7:30 PM. See ya there!
