Oh, so you mean that putting the mayor in charge of the schools and paying a bunch of folks $200K+ to run the schools doesn't magically fix things?

Now they tell me.......

Dave was in Georgetown Sunday afternoon. I'm sure you are greatly comforted by that fact.

Re: Getting a beer near Metro stations. The guys on that site are a bit off regarding Federal Center SW. They say that the only place is the bar at the Holiday Inn. I guess they never heard of the Market Inn? Its only been there since long before there was a Metro, a Federal Center, or even an agency called NASA (which is located next door).

On ABC local news this morning there was no mention (that I heard) of the person who was killed by a Metro train but there was plenty about the pigeons that got poisoned. Just thought it was weird...

Apparently the lady in Ballston was 63 and "intentionally placed herself on the tracks." (shudder)

I think I'm the only one left following this, as Ballston is my stop and it kind of freaks me out a little that someone committed suicide there yesterday morning.
