Alberto's Fire Doesn't Look Good

We've got more on that Dupont Circle fire we mentioned briefly in the Morning Roundup. As some commenters feared, the building in question does contain everyone's favorite Dupont neighborhood pizza spot, Alberto's, and the fire looks to have done some vaguely serious damage.
Apologies for the poor photo quality, but a camera-phone shot was the best we could do so far. What you're looking at is 2010 P Street NW, home to Alberto's, a Subway, and DJ Hut upstairs. Windows are broken out in all three establishments in the building, and the worst of the damage does seem to have occurred in Alberto's, though it was difficult for our reporter to tell how much because the lights were out and it was dark inside the pizzeria. While nothing appeared to be charred inside the Subway, the interior of Alberto's did suffer fire damage, and there were some pieces of charred ceiling insulation out on the street in front of the building.

If Alberto's suffered the worst damage, then that's the second fire they've had there in three years.
Not fun for them - not at all.
At least they have the new Adams Morgan location, although the people from the P St. one say AM doesn't have deep dish and they weren't sure about delivery. But hopefully that'll hold everyone over til they can fix up the Dupont location, assuming there's insurance.
Silly as it sounds, I had no idea the Adams Morgan one had anything to do with the Dupont one. I know where I'm getting dinner tonight!
:( saddest news ever.
City Paper's music blog is on the scene at DJ Hut and talked to the record store's owner. It's pretty fucking sad.
Go here for their rundown:

What exactly is "vaguely serious damage"? Is that the same thing as "mosty dead"? I like the information but sometimes; please get to the point.
"Vaguely serious damage" is, I suspect, kind of like "apparently not cool"; Sommer likes her gratuitous adverb prefixes.
The Adams Morgan location has delivery! I've used it and it was the usual wait time, around 40 minutes. And delicious.
Anyone know if the AM location has Chicago style pizza, or just the thin crust that they serve by the slice? If not, I'll feel particularly lucky to have individually wrapped and frozen half of the slices from the last Chicago pie I got there. And on that note, if anyone's jonesing I only charge $50 per 1/8, and I'd deliver. Oh god...I sound like such a dealer:P
"The turntables in the shop are also ruined."
The damn things never worked in the first place...
