About Tonight

>> Jazz fans won't want to miss guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel at Blues Alley tonight, feauturing saxophonist Mark Turner, pianist Aaron Parks, bassist Ben Street and drummer Rodney Green. Sets are at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets available here. $25 + $10 food/drink minimum.
>> Tickets are still available for Woolly Mammoth's production of The Unmentionables, about which our critic said that it "points Fat Albert’s giant index finger at the audience in a way that will make you cringe in recognition through your laughter." Tickets are $33-$45, and available online here.
>> You're running out of chances to catch the AFI Silver Theater's special run of a 70mm print of one of the greatest films of all time: David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia. 7:15 p.m. tonight, and one last time tomorrow, also 7:15 p.m.
>> Up and coming neo-soul singer Raheem DeVaughn's CD release party at the Black Cat tonight is already sold-out, but it might just be worth hanging outside to try to score one to get a chance to see him perform on such an intimate stage, considering he's probably heading to larger arenas in the near future.

Well don't know about tonight, but November is looking to be quite a month for the DC music scene in terms of visiting acts.
I see Rogue Wave on the 5th at the Black Cat.
Tegan & Sara on the 24th at GW's Lisner Auditorium.
And now Bright Eyes on the 11th at DAR Constitution Hall, and the Decembrists on the 9th/10th/11th/12th (four nights!) at the 9:30 Club.
Mebbe I'm not hip or nuthin, but things are looking up to me.
