Photo of the Day: September 18, 2007

Flickr user krisetya has been nailing it lately, and it was hard to resist this homage to Olga Viso, who will be stepping down as the Hirshhorn's director in a few months. Click through to read his kind words, as well as the commenters who rightly call the photo, "Clean, fluid, and minimalist with a fantastic richness of color." The Hirshhorn Museum is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or stop by their next After Hours event on October 5; tickets available online now. EXIF.

I agree that this is a nice shot. I would make one small recommendation though: the camera was ever so slightly off level. In a photograph that is heavy on geometery and horizontal lines like this, the slightest bit of skew throws off the shot. I would recommend a tiny, tiny rotate canvas clockwise. That would really make this shot solid.
boring
Krisetya's a great photographer, but I don't think this is one of his strongest shots.
that afterhours event sounded great until I read the music they will have ... good god.
Photo of the Day? Uh, what? Sappy story of Hirshhorn director leaving + tearful DCist Arts Editor = POTD? Uh, what?
