Photo of the Day: September 19, 2007

Despite all the bad things that come with living in a big city, one of the reasons we love living here -- especially in the nation's capital, where all of America's characters descend to speak for their rights -- is the amalgam of people you'll find on the streets at any given moment. Flickr user quemino of the world just uploaded this photo she took in 2003 last Saturday at a march of anarchists on the Mall. The grainy black and white texture makes this look like something our kids will be looking at in their social studies books soon. EXIF.

You really should put some quotes around "anarchists." Real anarchists are too busy writing their thesis papers on Bakunin to style their hair or go to marches. They barely have enough time to smash the State before brunch.
"And kids, today's lesson is on how to use egg white to turn your hair into an homage to '77."
Real anarchists carry cell phones with cameras. Then they can stream whatever cool concert they've liberty spiked their hair too.
FYI - The photographer just let me know the date was not correct on her camera, and this was actually taken...last Saturday and not four years ago. :)
