Disturbing Photos: Honest Abe Prefers the Aisle Seat

2007_0921_abe1%282%29.jpg

We first heard about the creepiest media stunt we could possibly imagine yesterday: The soon to open Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in D.C. planned to purchase a ticket on a Delta Shuttle flight from New York to DCA for their wax statue of President Abraham Lincoln. This morning, after tossing and turning all night with nightmares about being seated next to the slain leader, we have press photos waiting for us in our inbox. We hope you already ate breakfast.

Madame Tussaud's opens in Washington in October.

Why is Steve Carrell wearing that tux?

I like the lady in the window seat, leaning away as if Abe had ripped a nasty one.

Yeesh. The only thing more disgusting than that will be the admission fee.

Abe is sooo botox-ed up.

NBC Nightly News did a piece on this last night and it was hilarious because it showed folks getting on the flight and 9 out of 10 of the passengers who boarded the flight barely gave old Abe a second glance....as if having the former (and dead) president seated in an aisle seat was normal.

He doesn't look as awkward as he does in photographs. I thought he had a much bigger face/head.

I want to know if they made him take off his shoes.

There has been recent research on Lincoln's face.. it has been determined that his face was less symmetrical than what appears to be presented here.

Now my question is.. did they really use the politician's thumbs up in the 1860s?

No apostrophe on Tussauds. Also, very creepy.

i cant blame abe.... he's smarter than i thought!

Wow, that totally made my day!

Put a goatee on him and the dude sitting behind Lincoln in the airplane is a dead ringer for John Wilkes Booth. Would not want to be the lady next to him when the inevitable happens.

Ew. Cree-pee.

The first two days that the museum is open (October 5 and 6) they'll be donating a portion of the ticket sales to Bread for the City (www.breadforthecity.org). So if you're going to go, go then!

Did they make him take his shoes off too?

The face of Honest Abe is a lot thinner that we are use to seeing in books and the movies.

I guess this Abe is on the Weight Watcher diet.

The hands look waaaay too young! Needs more cragginess.

Isn't Abe on the TSA watch list?
