Photo of the Day: September 25, 2007

Flickr user SweetJen34 stopped by the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, source of quite a few Photos of the Day, and took a series of fascinating and almost fantasy-land type shots, including this one of some oddly colorful water berries. They kind of remind me of the "berries" that used to come on my morning cereal. Mmmm...crunch berries... EXIF.

what are those? they are all over my back yard.
which is not near any kind of water...

Amazing shot - great choice, Heather!

I think it's porcelain berry--it's an invasive.

Yeah, guest 3, it looks like you're right. I called it a water berry only because it was found at the aquatic gardens and the photographer tagged it "water plants," but it doesn't seem to strictly be a water plant.

Hi... this is Jen, yes, those are Porcelain Berries (Porcelain Berry Ampelopsis b revipedunculata, in case you care!)... sorry, Heather, that they were tagged "water plants", I did a batch tag...they are just a local vine but the berries are really pretty and birds love them, easy to propagate from stems if you want one!
