>> Tonight is the annual 17th Street High Heel Race. The classic D.C. drag event kicks off officially at 9 p.m., but you'll want to take your position on 17th St. NW between Church and R well before that (we'd recommend 7 at the latest). If you're looking to make a queer night of it, don't forget about the Hug-In planned at the U Street Rite Aid at 7 p.m., and the pre-Hug-In Happy Hour at Nellie's at 6.
>> The Go! Team are at the 9:30 Club tonight for a 10 p.m. show with DJ Will Eastman. Tickets are still available for $15 at the door. Check out our full preview here.
>> It's easy enough to come up with a good reason to go to Galaxy Hut for a few beers, but tonight it couldn't be simpler: the bar is hosting a benefit for victims of the recent Adams Morgan apartment building fire with Sons of Guns and The Aquarium playing. $5 suggested donation.
>> Prolific maniac singer-songwriter Ryan Adams plays tonight at DAR Constitution Hall. We would never say anything bad about Ryan Adams' music, ever, because we wouldn't want him to start rapping about us. Or would we? You peaked at Heartbreaker, dude. Look who's got a web site now! $34, 8 p.m.

Ok, I like benefits and charitable actions as anyone; however this must be the 100th benefit for this particular fire. I know what it is like to be forces out of your home and rebuild your life, but didn't these people have renters insurance? They must have raised the amount to cover the premium by now.
have you ever actually seen Ryan Adams in concert? Or listened to his "overly prolific" music collection? I can honestly say that out of the 150 or so songs of his that I have on my ipod, there are maybe 3 I skip. I can understand disliking a certain artist, but stating that he peaked 8 albums ago is ignorant and just not true.
