The Eagle – American University:
>>AU students lamented losing their Hollywood Video this week, which is holding a giant closing sale and selling all of its movies. It's unclear what will become of the space, conveniently located next to the AU shuttle bus stop and the Tenleytown-AU Metro station.
>>Sgt. Zachary Tellier, a 1998 AU graduate, was killed by enemy fire while fighting in Afghanistan on the 29th of September. At AU, Tellier was captain of the Rugby team. He is survived by his wife Sara Grace Martin.
The Tower – Catholic University:
>>CU has revised their policy on guests in residence halls. All guests have to leave by midnight, including other CU students who live in other dorms. Administrators say the policy is to reduce conflict between roommates.
>>Two men suspected of robbery in the Metro fled from Metro Transit Police officers and were apprehended on CU's campus. Department of Public Safety officers threatened Chase McAlpine, photography editor for The Tower, into deleting his pictures of the arrest. After calling MTP district one headquarters, the Tower was told that "metro police officers were allowed to seize photographs taken of potential terrorist targets."
The Hoya – Georgetown University:
>>Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson spoke at GU last Thursday. Asked by one student if he would run as a vice-presidential candidate on the ballot next year, Richardson responded with, "No. I'm going to win this nomination."
>>Apparently rats are a big problem at GU, often ranked one of the top schools in the country. Freshman Rick Kelly exclaims, "I think we need to have an exterminator on campus, because I feel afraid."

The Hatchet – George Washington University:
>>GWU made national headlines this week as students found posters saying "Hate Muslims? So do we!!!" and advertising for the upcoming Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week hanging all over campus Tuesday. At first, members of the conservative Young America's Foundation were suspected because they were listed as contacts on the fliers. By Wednesday night, however, seven students, including outspoken Iraqi war veteran and activist Adam Kokesh, had come forward as the creators of the fliers. Apparently, it wasn't as funny as they had intended, and some involved parties are considering pressing charges in order to get the students expelled.
The Diamondback – University of Maryland:
>>UMD Students are eagerly await the opening of The Thirsty Turtle, a new college park beer and pizza sports bar/music venue. The owner has been in fights with the landlord and the county concerning fences and fire exits for over a year. Construction work is happening now, but who knows when the bar will open. Until then, students might have to keep coming into the city.
>>Plainclothes UMD University Police officers arrested a man caught in the act of stealing a bike locked up on campus. He was charged with trespassing and for stealing five bikes, one of which was worth over $500.
