Goodbye $100 million budget surplus, hello audit in 18 months to find out WTF happened to that $89 million.
Memo to the handful of Silver Spring residents worried that a light rail line running by your house will destroy your quality of life and may, in fact, drive you completely insane:
If you are ultimately successful in derailing the project, then you forever lose the right to complain about the volume of traffic processing through your 'hood. Everyone seems to love the idea of the purple line, but nobody seems to want to sacrifice anything to get it. Either suck it up and deal with whatever minor inconveniences may come your way from its construction, or shut up with the complaints about traffic and commute times already. You can't have it both ways.
