Photo of the Day: October 4, 2007

Flickr user Samer Farha had to put a little work in to get a shot this great, using an off-camera flash, black foamboard, and slowly burning incense. No doubt he took a hundred photos just to get the focus right, but it was well worth the result, with this perfectly lit, almost supernatural looking wisp. As Samer notes in the title, "Square Curves," one of the most interesting parts of the photo is right in the center, where the smoke seems to take a 90 degree turn. EXIF.
