Photo of the Day: November 7, 2007

kid in front of the jackson pollock

There is only one way to describe today's entries in the DCist photo pool: adorable. Whether it's the photo above from Tracy Lee, doe-eyed toddlers, or even a somewhat off-topic picture of some Magellanic penguins in Chile. The photo above takes the win because it oozes a bright artistic future for the child pictured; you'd half-expect to see the photo as a poster for increased NEA funding or one decrying the decay of arts education in our schools. "What if the future had no Jackson Pollocks?" Or, "Learning is more than standardized testing." Or, "Tomorrow's artists are children left behind." Get in touch with an ad agency quick, Tracy Lee! Another plus for the photo is that, if you look closely, you'll see the boy is holding what appears to be a dead parrot. Not only surreal, but an excellent Monty Python reference. EXIF.

The kids' like, "Damn. They payed a couple mil for THIS? That's what my potty look like after I've had a whole bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos!"

if that's duncan, there's a chance what he's holding is actually this:
