Toys for Tots Donations Down for 2007
NBC4 reported last night that food banks are not the only local charities feeling the holiday crunch this year: the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in D.C. also says it is suffering from a decline in donations compared to last year. So we are posting this photo of a crying baby we found to make you feel bad -- bad enough to donate some toys to needy local kids, that is.
There are something like eleventy-kabillion area drop-off locations for Toys for Tots, and you can find a list of them here. Remember that donations should be of new, unwrapped toys, preferably around the $10 or above price range.

I'd like to donate to Toys for Tots, but I already gave away all my lead-painted Barbies to the food bank.
Maybe we should get the Axis of Fun on the case? After all, they HAVE "raised $3,000 for local charities"...

Saddest... baby... ever.
My theory is that people might not want to give things run by the Marine Corps during an unpopular war.
Toby: I'd like to think that people aren't so petty as to withhold donations for that reason, but you may be right.
I brought a toy for a Toys for Tots collection to a holiday party a couple weeks back, but will probably be donating a few more in light of this.
Don't blame this fiasco of a war on the Marines as a whole, they're just following orders. Blame it on our asshole of a mediocre president who started this war unprovoked & based on lies.
For those of you out there who voted for Chimp in the first place, a pox on you!
