that's strange about viridian. although, i never saw that many people there when i ate there, so i guess it's not that weird.
That dog is thinking, "Where the hell is that kid with my latté?"
Nickels and Fenty better have a good replacement in mind. Morrison had over 15 cases before the SC. Rarely is it a good idea to bring in someone that is not regarded as a SC jurist to try a case. It usually works out poorly. If they think they can just bring someone else in that is a good lawyer, DC has no shot in this case.
My two guesses as to who Nickels finds as a replacement: 1) Pete Nickels; 2) Pete Nickels' former law firm partner.
From the Post article, it seems that Morrison's firing was little more than Nickels getting rid of someone Linda Singer appointed. And Nickels seems to think there's a conspiracy over at the AG's office to make the mayor look bad for Singer's departure.
If DC loses the case (which I think it will given the Supreme's current makeup), then Nickels and Fenty will be subject to lots of blame for replacing their legal team at such a late stage of the game.
And how douchey is it for Nickels to have his assistant send Morrison an email saying "Oh by the way, you're fired"? If he's made the decision to fire Morrison, then the least Nickels could have done was do the deed himself.
Nickels is shady. I used to have some faith in Fenty, but Nickels is out of control and allowing Nickels to be out of control speaks volumes about Fenty's character and leadership.
Viridian was always too pretentious and overpriced for the neighborhood. It was not a place where you felt you could just pop in for dinner if you did not feel like cooking (like: Stoney's or Logan Tavern).
I vote for an upscale Dinner!!!
Viridian sounds like the name of some prescription blood pressure medication, anyway.
And Fenty = not very bright.
