Weekly Music Agenda
MONDAY
>> LOOK OUT BELOW! By now, everyone's heard about the incredible frenzy that the entire nation went into over Hannah Montana tickets. Tonight the cyclone of tween thunder comes to the Verizon Center, so we recommend steering clear of Gallery Place as best you can.
>> It's the first Monday of the month, and that means that the Federal Reserve Collective (aka, musicians in bands you know, like These United States, Vandaveer and others) are taking the stage at Iota. A quick metro ride to Clarendon and five little dollars will get you a night of great music. 8 p.m.
>> DC Rock Club says that Sad Crocodile plays "depressing songs with lyrics that alternate between amusing and slightly disturbing." See for yourself tonight at the Red & the Black, as they open for Ezra Furman & the Harpoons. $8
WEDNESDAY
>> Two electronic acts from Milwaukee (Terrior Bute and Big Fun) and one horn-driven noise band from D.C. (Gestures) at the Velvet Lounge. Exactly what you had in mind for a Wednesday, right?
>> If not, make the trek to H Street for the Rock and Roll Hotel's Drunken Jenga upstairs, and The Positions and 1900s downstairs on the main stage. $10 for music, upstairs is free.
THURSDAY
>> L'Angelus, a Cajun and country-pop band that includes a mom and her four kids, will offer sweet-voiced female vocals and acoustic instrumentation that’s likely to get folks dancing from 8 to 11 at Los Arrieros, 7926 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. FFIC: 301-585-8813. $15
FRIDAY
>> If you've read much Chuck Klosterman, you appreciate the difference between a cover band and a tribute band. To experience a great example of the latter, visit the 9:30 Club for The Silver Beats, Japan's premier Beatles tribute band. With Richmond's very Beatles-esque Prabir and the Substitutes. $15.
>> Vinicio Capossela is an offbeat, theatrical Italian folk-pop performer into spaghetti-western soundtracks, tango, and 1950s American beat writers. He recorded his most recent album, Ovunque Proteggi (May You Protect Me Everywhere) in such locations as a cave in Sardinia, a Renaissance-era church in Sicily, and a 19th century theater. He will be performing for free at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage at 6 p.m.
>> No Second Troy are taking the stage at the Black Cat, along with Three Stars vets The Vita Ruins and Lejeune. $10, 9 p.m.
SATURDAY
>> Once upon a time there was a compilation record album of D.C. bands called “30 seconds over DC: Here comes the New Wave” that included Half Japanese, the Chumps and others. Now decades later, “30 Years Over DC” will feature various local rock vets including a reunited 9353, Ottley! (with Slickee Boys members), The Howling Mad (w/ Razz members), Rambling Shadows, Rustbuckit (w/ Black Market Baby members) and The New Standard at the 9:30 club for $12.
>> Want your dance parties to get a little more eclectic? Head to DC9 for Transatlantic Dance Party!, and get your groove on to "Baltimore Club to French Electro and everything in between." $8
SUNDAY
>> D.C. folk-rockers Kitty Hawk will be strumming and singing their melancholy tunes at Iota.

Wait! I thought that was ashley olsen. Or mary kate. Shit, now I feel like a pervert.
yech, that's kinda hooker-y, isn't it?
I wish I'd read this BEFORE I started my commute home. It wasn't until I saw the gaggle of 13 year olds standing up through a limo sunroof that I realized something was seriously amiss down in that part of town.
