Photo of the Day: January 22, 2008

It's always interesting to browse the pool after a long weekend to see what folks have been up to. Looks like many, many of you waited in a very long line to see Stephen Colbert's handsome face at the National Portrait Gallery; some caught a rare glimpse of the Weinermobile trekking around D.C.; and some just looked up and wondered what it would be like to visit the Moon.

Flickr user Mr. T in DC, on the other hand, stayed closer to home by visiting the local Cowgirl Creamery in Penn Quarter, where he got this shot that they might want to consider using for a future ad. Who wouldn't want to patronize an establishment where this handsome fellow in the jaunty kerchief is ready and waiting to give you detailed dairy advice on his hundreds of blocks of delicious cheese? EXIF.

I'm just proud the photo was actually straight, unlike my other off-kilter efforts. The cheese specialist (fromagerie? formaggitisto? cheesemaster?) behind the counter gave permission for the photo, and we went home with some Mount Tam. Who doesn't like cheese? I love that place.

I had a girlfriend who didn't like cheese. We don't talk much anymore.

I just came from the Portrait Gallery and they are filming some more clips (reaction shots from the public) about Colbert's portrait.

Cowgirl Creamery - HORRIBLY overpriced, not at all affordable on a GS 7 salary...
